The following is a list of position specific requirements: 

 

- Corrections officers - Starting salary $19.58/hour

​

 Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

 

 - Applicant must be a Citizen of the United States and be 18 years of age or older.

 - Applicant must possess a valid operator’s license.

 - Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.

 - Applicant must possess Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission Basic Corrections certification (or willing to complete this

       certification after employment).

 - Applicant must possess physical capability to successfully use non-lethal tools.

 - Applicant must possess the physical capability to physically engage with inmates. 

 - Applicant must not have been convicted of domestic violence, perjury, or a felony, .

- Certified deputies assigned to road patrol - Starting salary $21.34/hour -

​

 Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

​

 - Applicant must be a Citizen of the United States and be 21 years of age or older.

 - Applicant must possess a valid operator’s license.

 - Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.

 - Applicant must possess Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (O.P.O.T.A) certification demonstrating completion of basic police     

       academy.

 - Applicant must possess physical capability to successfully use lethal and non-lethal tools.

 - Applicant must be able to operate a patrol vehicle in various conditions.

 - Applicant must possess the physical capability to take suspects into custody. 

 - Applicant must not have been convicted of domestic violence, perjury, or a felony.

- Certified deputies assigned to court services - Starting salary $20.56/hour -

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

​

 - Applicant must be a Citizen of the United States and be 21 years of age or older.

 - Applicant must possess a valid operator’s license.

 - Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.

 - Applicant must possess Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (O.P.O.T.A) certification demonstrating completion of basic police     

       academy.

 - Applicant must possess physical capability to successfully use lethal and non-lethal tools.

 - Applicant must be able to operate a patrol vehicle in various conditions.

- Paramedic assigned to corrections - Starting salary - $24.00

​

 - Applicant must be a Citizen of the United States and be 18 years of age or older.​

 - Applicant must possess a valid operator’s license.

 - Must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D.​

 - Applicant must possess valid certificate to practice as a paramedic in accordance with requirements set by the Ohio Board of       

       Emergency Medical, Fire, and Transportation Services (Revised Code 4765.11).​

 - Applicant must possess physical capability to perform standing, walking, and low to moderate physical activity.

 - Applicant must possess the physical capability to use medical equipment and instruments. â€‹

 - Must not have been convicted of a felony, domestic violence, or perjury.

​

All full time positions include: $.75/hour shift differential for employees assigned to night shift, full medical benefits, pension in Ohio Public Employee Retirement System (OPERS)/Ohio Public Employee Retirement System Law Enforcement (OPERSLE), paid vacation and sick time, availability for overtime, uniform and equipment issued, paid training, and potential for take home vehicles for certified deputies.
